A small selection of environments I've created for my sci-fi/horror graphic novel "The Sprawl".
I like to work a lot of rounded, organic imagery into the settings, especially as there is no nature, it's a massive metal city that's always growing. In the sky you can just make out giant arches that will eventually be the skeleton of more city.
For this image I boxed out the environment using simple shapes in Blender, then used that as a guide for the drawing.
Space and planet fall sequence.
Hallway in a space station. I'd watched 2001 (for the bazillionth time) and a documentary about the ISS and wanted to do a hallway for a zero-g environment. I've reused this background for planetside scenes but heavily cropped and/or rotated.
Another page showing environments worked into the page art. This time the interior of the hospital and a different angle of the streetside entrance.
Inspired by Dante's Inferno, an enormous biomechanical entity is discovered frozen in the ice.
A hallway from the ice mining platform in the 4th chapter of "The Sprawl". I was thinking of the ship sets from the original Star Trek series redone with more of an Alien style "used future" look.
